The 1st ROSEWOOD4.0 Forestry Speed Dating Workshop – Find an investor for your innovation was held on 25th October 2021. The first series is on the theme of Digitalisation of forest management, inventory and monitoring, and the first event, on Silvicultural visualisation and simulation tools.
Both innovations presented on the Workshop, iWald and Virtual Forest 2.0, have been detected through ROSEWOOD4.0 collection of BPI.
Hubert Röder, University of Applied Sciences, Germany, presented the iWald platform, which is aimed to activate forest owners and stakeholders to facilitate and digitalise access to their forests via phone or tablet. iWald platform provides all technical data and information for sustainable management of forests.
Markus Korhonen, Lapland University of Applied Sciences, Finland, presented the Virtual Forest 2.0 tool that is research and development project, which develops a new innovation tool that enables efficient visualization of forest resource and spatial data in 3D. Virtual Forest is an application, which can be used in participatory planning of land use, guidance of forest owners and for combining interests of different stakeholder groups concerning utilization of natural resources and areas. Project aims to enhance use of visualization e.g. in forest bioeconomy sector.
