Within the framework of the project, three Centres of business competences were established in Žepče, Podgorica and Stari Jankovci, with a branch office in Tovarnik, intended to enhance the competencies of employees in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises through activities that include the organisation of training and mentoring programs for MSMEs and the unemployed , and the introduction of new technologies and innovative solutions into the business through smart collaboration programs. The work of the Competence centres is based on the cooperation of the private, public and scientific-research sectors, which is a framework that will be further developed in the EU countries and in the countries funded by the cross-border competenceNET project.
At the closing conference of the project “Improving the Transnational Business Environment through Development of Centres of Business Competences and Networks – competenceNET”, held in municipality of Stari Jankovci in the Republic of Croatia with the presence of representatives of the public, private and non-governmental sector from BiH, Croatia and Montenegro, representatives of development institutions , agencies, clusters and LAGs from Vukovar-srijem County, presented the most important project results related to the development of a joint cross – border strategy of centres of business competences, communication strategy and business plans for each of the Centres. Work on the reconstruction and equipping of the Centres of business competences in Žepče, Stari Jankovci and Podgorica has been successfully completed. The first Cross-Border Network for a favourable business environment was established with over 15 members – signatories to the Memorandum of Access to the Network, and an interactive web portal, webinar platform, mobile application and sub page of each of the centers were created.
The introductory part was addressed by the mayors of Stari Jankovci and Tovarnik from the Republic of Croatia Dragan Sudarević and Ruža Veselčić Šijaković and the mayor of Žepče Mato Zovko. The advantage of cooperation of the cross-border partners was emphasised, as the Competence centres from all three countries will share their services for SMEs, which will be able to access additional specialised services offered within the cross-border through webinars and mobile applications areas. Within the three centers, a total of seven trainings were conducted in the field of financial management, PCM, the use of specialised software, etc. and a total of 85 people were educated.

In Žepče, we have opened the first Centre of business competences for the whole of BiH, which represents a significant step forward in the development of workers’ competences and in helping companies find their place in the market. Both the Croatian and Montenegrin sides did this because we were following a regional development strategy, “said Jugoslav Sarajlić, a competenceNET project leader in front of a leading partner, Žepče Development Agency.
The final conference presented promotional video films with training messages prepared for each of the established centres, and organised a visit to the Centre for business competences Ltd. food and bioeconomy Stari Jankovci, which is focused on the needs of the agricultural sector and is designed to provide services to micro, small and medium enterprises in the agricultural sector.

competenceNET – “Improvement of Transnational Business Environment through Development of Centres of business competences and Networks” project translated “Improvement of Transnational Business Environment through Development of Business Competence Centres and Networks” Stari Jankovci and Tovarnik from Croatia. The project has been approved for funding under the first call for proposals under the INTERREG – IPA CBC Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2014-2020 Cross-border Cooperation Program. The project duration is 30 months (6.2017 – 11.2019), and the total the budget is EUR 670,619.24, of which the EU finances 85% and 15% is co-financed by project partners.
