ROSEWOOD4.0 project (H2020) presented on 11th Southeast Europe Sawmill Congress

In the framework of project ROSEWOOD4.0 EU Network of Regions On Sustainable WOOD Mobilisation ready for Digitalisation (H2020), and its networking and clustering activities Competence Centre Ltd. participated on 11th Southeast Europe Sawmill Congress. Congress was held on 25th of September 2020 in Slavonski Brod, Croatia. Congress was organized by Croatian Wood Cluster, Centre for Development and Investment and Wood & Furniture, with European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS) and European Confederation of Woodworking Industries (CEI-BOIS) as a partners.

The themes of this year’s congress were mobilization of additional quantities of raw materials, EU funds, sector competitiveness with the help of innovations and technological achievements of industry 4.0.

Minister of Agriculture Marija Vučković opened the 11th Congress of Sawmills, emphasizing that the sector is struggling with long-term problems, but also with problems caused by pandemic.

Representatives of the sawmill industry and forestry, leading European sawmill technology suppliers, local government units, trade unions and the media participated on the congress.

Director of Competence Centre Ltd. PhD Ivan Ambroš participated on panel discussion “Wood and forest in the centre of regional and rural development” with minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Natašom Tramišak.
