National Advisory Workshop Held Within the FORADVISE Project

On 21 November 2025, the National Advisory Workshop was held at the premises of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in Zagreb. The event was organised as part of the FORADVISE project – the European Advisory Network in Forestry, co-funded by the Horizon Europe programme.

The FORADVISE project aims to build a strong European network to support forestry advisory services, strengthen advisory capacities, facilitate knowledge exchange and encourage cooperation among key sector stakeholders. Through activities focused on effective information-sharing and stakeholder engagement, capacity building, pilot actions and the development of a shared digital platform, the project contributes to creating healthier, more resilient and multifunctional forests.

During the workshop, participants were introduced to the FORADVISE project, its objectives and its expected contribution to the development of the forestry advisory system. Particular emphasis was placed on engagement of forest advisors and other FOKIS stakeholders at the level of EU Member States.

In an open discussion, participants reflected on the daily challenges faced by advisors and forest owners, as well as the importance of high-quality advisory support for sustainable forest management. Stakeholders within Croatia’s forestry advisory system were identified, and the workshop concluded with the development of a SWOT analysis, which provided valuable insight into the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the forestry advisory system.

The workshop represented an important step forward in strengthening cooperation and establishing a more effective advisory framework for the future development of the forestry sector in Croatia and the European Union.
