The FORADVISE Project Has Begun

The FORADVISE project has begun. This international initiative aims to develop and strengthen advisory capacities in forestry across Europe by creating a comprehensive advisory network. Funded by the Horizon Europe program, this project will support the modernization of the forestry sector, promote the sustainability and multifunctionality of European forests, and contribute to EU, national and regional policy objectives.

The project brings together a consortium of over 30 partners from across Europe, including advisory organizations, the scientific community, policymakers, and leading experts from the sector, led by the European Forest Institute

The main objectives of the project include creating a cooperative environment for forestry, developing more competent, confident, and proactive advisors, ensuring easily accessible, reliable, and contextualized knowledge, improving the Forest Knowledge and Innovation System (FOKIS) at the European level, and contributing to the formation of a better-informed and engaged society.

Special emphasis is placed on developing methodologies and tools for cost-benefit analysis in advisory practices and building a self-sustaining advisory network that will be integrated into national and regional AKIS systems. The project will also offer online courses, training materials, and tools for economic analysis of advisory activities, ensuring better-informed decision-making for forest owners and policymakers.

The FORADVISE project will contribute to improvement of the forestry sector in Europe, enabling effective knowledge exchange, strengthening advisory capacities, and developing sustainable forestry practices that meet the challenges of the modern era.
