The Croatian Agency for SMEs, Innovations and Investments (HAMAG-BICRO) has opened applications for the selection of the most innovative startup in Croatia, carried out within the framework of the Horizontal Transformation Project (HIT).
This initiative aims to identify and promote startups developing innovative solutions that contribute to the growth of regional economies, in line with the Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3).
Who can apply?
The call is open to startups that:
- are registered as micro, small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- were founded after 1 January 2020
- develop innovative products, services or technologies
- operate in areas aligned with S3 priorities and regional value chains
How is the selection organised?
The competition takes place on two levels:
- regional level – Adriatic, Pannonian, and Northern Croatia
- national level – where the overall winner (Grand Prix of Croatia) will be selected
What does participation offer?
Participating startups gain opportunities to:
- present their innovations to expert audiences and investors
- increase visibility at national and international level
- connect with partners and key stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem
Deadline and application
Applications are open until 1st September 2026and must be submitted via the official application form.
