On 19 February 2026, a regional meeting of key stakeholders of the NBS4LOCAL project was held at the premises of the Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency.
The focus of the meeting was on analyzing the results so far and resolving obstacles in aligning planned activities with existing strategic frameworks. During the meeting, stakeholders – the Public institution for the management of protected areas of nature of Vukovar-Srijem County, the Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency, the FLAG, and the Competence Center Ltd. for Research and Development – presented current events and measures being implemented in the Vukovar-Srijem County in the field of nature protection. The stakeholders highlighted key documents and initiatives of their institutions that are already aimed at ecosystem preservation, emphasizing the importance of integrating nature-based solutions (NBS) into local policies.
Special emphasis was placed on discussing the steps to be taken to ensure the effective implementation of proposed solutions. Consequently, it was agreed to focus on the development of a concrete Action Plan. This document will define clear and feasible measures fully applicable on the ground, while taking into account the administrative and strategic capabilities of the county.
By defining concrete steps to solve current challenges, it was ensured that this phase of the project concludes with a clear plan for the further implementation of NBS solutions and the successful continuation of cooperation among all key actors.
