Project FOREST4EU: Croatian Prioritisation Workshop was held

On 29th February 2024, in the premises of the Competence Centre, we held a hybrid workshop for prioritising the European innovations and good practices in the forestry and agroforestry sector in the framework of u okviru projekta FOREST4EU project.

Competence Centre director, PhD Ivan Ambroš, greeted all the participants and briefly presented the previous work and activities of Competence Centre.

Head of Department for programmes and projects, Danijela Šarić Bartolović presented FOREST4EU project, workshop objectives and the prioritisation methodology applied for the evaluation of European innovations and good practices in the forestry and agroforestry sector and their applicability in Croatia, the selection of operational groups for the study visit, and the selection process of the preferred communication format, channels and target groups.

Daša Berić, representative of Ministry of Agriculture presented the Draft of bioeconomy strategy 2035, in which she highlighted the importance of the bioeconomy as an economic model with a great potential, especially in rural areas.

FOREST4EU will promote the sustainability of forestry and agroforestry (and rural areas in general) through new business models, social innovation, and climate change resilience measures funded through operational groups. FOREST4EU provides intensive knowledge transfer activities to guide the formation of new alliances of farmers, foresters, policy makers and other stakeholders in Europe to demonstrate the feasibility of alternative strategies and systems that are or could be funded at the local/national level by EIP-AGRI OGs.
