New project started – ROSEWOOD 4.0 (Horizon 2020) for digitalization of forestry and wood industry

FLORENCE  17th of January 2020 – Kick-off meeting of the new project ROSEWOOD 4.0 European Network of Regions On Sustainable WOOD ready for Digitalisation (HORIZON 2020) was organized in the capital city of Toscana region.

Kick-off meeting was attended by 21 partners from 19 European countries. ROSEWOOD 4.0 project partners are organized in Hubs (Northern Europe, Central-Eastern, Central-Western, South-Eastern, South-Western Europe). Competence Centre Ltd. is a Hub manager of the South-Eastern Europe Hub with Slovenian forestry institute (Slovenia) and Cluster of Bioenergy & Environment of Western Macedonia (Greece). Following successful implementation of the ROSEWOOD project, which ends in January 2020, the Competence Centre Ltd. will continue to support and promote the sustainable use of valuable forest raw materials for the next 2 years since the project lasts until December 2021. The total value of the project is EUR 2.047,901.00 and is funded 100% from the program of the European Union for research and innovation, HORIZON 2020.

The ROSEWOOD4.0 is directed to enhancement of the actual ROSEWOOD EU-network of regions and its activities allowing stakeholders of the wood mobilisation value-chain to connect and share best-practices in the field. The final aim is to transfer efficiently the knowledge intra-regionally and across regions through modern tools such as digital platforms, digital trainings solutions, etc.

Project coordinator is Steinbeis 2i GmbH (Germany), Competence Centre Ltd. for research and development from Vinkovci is a only Croatian representatives and other project partners are Innovawood (Belgium), European Forestry Institute (Finland), Holzcluster Steiermark (Austria),  Centre national de la propriete forestiere (France), Bern University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland), Forstliches Bildungszentrum für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik (Germany), Slovenian Forestry Institute (Slovenia), Cluster of Bioenergy & Environment of Western Macedonia (Greece), Fundacion Centro De Servicios Y Promocion Forestal Y De Su Industria De Castilla Y Leon (Spain), Associazione Italiana Energie Agroforestali (Italy), Instituto Superior D’ Agronomia, University of Lisbon (Portugal), Forza – Agency for Sustainable Development of the Carpathian Region (Ukraine), Wood Technology Institute (Poland), Association Ko-Fa (Romania), National Forest Centre (Slovakia), Lapin ammattikorkeakoulu Oy (Finland), Luonnonvarakeskus (Finland), Paper Province  Cluster (Sweden) and Tretorget (Norway).

Kick off meeting was attended by representatives of Competence Centre, Director dr. sc. Ivan Ambroš, Head of department for Business Development Danijela Šarić-Bartolović and Project Assistant Iva Božić.
