On July 8, 2026, the Regional Stakeholder Group meeting and workshop were held as part of the NBS4LOCAL project - Adoption of nature-based solutions to improve the resilience of local governments to climate change.

The NBS4LOCAL project is being implemented within the Interreg Europe program with the aim of strengthening the application of nature-based solutions through regional and local development policies.

Examples of good practice from European regions were discussed, with a special emphasis on the "Give back to Nature" model from Finland's Salla and the possibilities of its adaptation to local needs. As part of the workshop, participants considered which nature-based measures could be included in the project's Action Plan and development documents of the Vukovar-Srijem County. Special attention was paid to the preservation of the Spačva-Bosut Basin, sustainable management of natural resources, and possible models of involving the local community and the business sector in nature protection activities.
