The FULAR project continues its activities aimed at developing a circular and sustainable future in furniture production! The First In-Person Kick-Off Meeting of the project partners took place on February 17th and 18th, 2025, in Karditsa, Greece, where participants jointly defined key guidelines for the project’s implementation and the development of sustainable sector strategies.
During the event, project partners participated in a series of activities focused on enhancing the circular economy. Field trips provided opportunities to explore recycling options for wooden materials and the application of green technologies in furniture production, while technical workshops focused on analysing strategies for better use of local wood, recycled materials, and waste.
The project is led by the University of Thessaly, Department of Forestry, Wood Science, and Design, with the Competence Centre Ltd. acting as one of the partners. Other partners include: Cluster for Household Furniture Production FVG (Italy), Slovenian Wood Industry Cluster (Slovenia), Development Agency of the City of Prijedor "PREDA" (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Slovenian Forest Institute (Slovenia), Albanian Wood Industry Cluster (Albania), University of Belgrade – Faculty of Forestry, Croatian Wood Cluster, and IUAV University of Venice.
The project is co-financed by the Interreg IPA ADRION cross-border cooperation program. With the support of expert teams and partners, FULAR has the potential to become a key driver of change not only in our region but beyond. This project is not just an opportunity for ecological progress but also for creating furniture that combines functionality, innovation, and environmental responsibility.
