EU week – Project ROSEWOOD

VINKOVCI, 05.05.2020. – Project ROSEWOOD – European Network of Regions for Sustainable Use of Wood Raw Materials lasted from February 2018 to January 2020 and was funded by Horizon 2020 program. Consortium leader was Steinbeis 2i GmbH.

The project established a ROSEWOOD Network of Regions to increase sustainable wood use, with hubs in northern, eastern, central and southern Europe, in order to transfer knowledge in forestry and wood industry as well as to create a basis for interregional dialogue and cooperation.

  • 15 partners from 10 European countries participated,
  • project budget: 1.5 million EUR,
  • 100% funded by Horizon 2020,
  • duration: 2 years,
  • over 150 examples of good practice and innovation were presented.

During final conference held at 16.01.2020. in Florence, results, hub managers’ guidelines and the review of European examples of good practice and innovation https://mapviewer.rosewood-network.eu/ were presented.

Although the ROSEWOOD project has ended, the story of sustainable use of raw materials does not end here but continues with the ROSEWOOD4.0 project, aiming at digital transformation of wood sector. Completion of ROSEWOOD was also marked with a booklet:

Competence Centre Ltd. made a video about ROSEWOOD which contains interviews with forestry and wood experts as well as examples of best practices in forestry and wood sector (from 19:26 to 27:23 minutes).
