Faculty of Forestry, University of Zagreb, in cooperation with partners in project “Development and implementation of professional practice at the Faculty of Forestry” (financed by European Social Fund), the Croatian Chamber of Forestry Engineers and Wood Technology, Wood Cluster SLAVONIAN OAK and Competence Centre Ltd. for research and development organized training of mentors and professors on student mentoring, work monitoring and evaluation of learning outcomes of professional practice from September 30th to October 1st 2020 in Vinkovci.
Training was attended by 40 future mentors (online and in person) from the Faculty, high school and wood industry, who will provide an opportunity for students to gain practical skills through implementation of professional practice programme at the Faculty and in wood sector companies. Students, in cooperation with mentors in wood sector companies and faculty professors, will solve problems they will encounter in the real sector. This way, they will be trained to be ready for the labour market and stay with their mentors as possible future, potential employers.
Mentors training was official EU Green Week 2020 event, initiated and organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment under motto “A new beginning for people and nature”.
Being official EU Green Week 2020 partner with European Commission, Competence Centre is marking its 3rd year of operations and 10th anniversary of Wood Cluster SLAVONIAN OAK.
