Successful NBS4LOCAL Meeting Held in Poland

From November 5 to 7, two significant events took place in Rzeszów, Poland, as part of the project "Adopting Nature-Based Solutions to Enhance Climate Resilience of Local Governments" (NBS4LOCAL). As a project partner, the Competence Centre actively participated in workshops and meetings, collaborating with other participants to develop sustainable nature-based solutions for the benefit of local communities.

The first day was dedicated to a Peer Review meeting, during which the Polish partners presented successful examples and inspiring solutions for nature preservation through nature-based approaches. Partners had the opportunity to share experiences in improving water retention capacity to combat floods and droughts in forests, modernizing agricultural practices, and discussing the priority program "My Water" for environmental protection and water resource management.

During the visit with Polish partners, the third interregional meeting of the NBS4LOCAL project was also held, bringing together partners for hands-on workshops and discussions to exchange insights. Key activities included planning and financing nature-based solutions, reviewing and aligning strategies to increase social awareness of the importance of nature-based solutions, and sharing experiences in implementing pilot projects and enhancing local policies.

This event provided an exceptional opportunity for collaboration, networking, and collective work on practical solutions that leverage natural resources for the benefit of the environment and local communities.
