Project objective: Revitalization of the forests of the Spačva-Bosut basin to preserve biodiversity and resilience to climate change.
Enhanced cross-border capacity for improved resilience of forest ecosystems to climate change.
Planned Activities:
- Baseline assessment – data collection from existing sources and advanced field observations
- Development of a Green Action Plan for improving the condition of forest ecosystems in the Spačva–Bosut basin
- Preparation and establishment of pilot areas
- Joint demonstration of pilot area restoration using a new forest restoration solution
- Establishment of a cross-border gene bank
- Joint development of forest ecosystem restoration solutions
- Dissemination of results and preparation of solutions for adoption by organizations
Expected Project Results:
- Jointly developed Green Action Plan
- New methodologies for soil preparation and planting
- Forest ecosystem restoration model
Project Budget: 1.655.501,66 EUR
CEKOM Budget: 189.000,00 EUR
