The Final Event of Project ROSEWOOD4.0 – EU Network of Regions On Sustainable Wood Mobilisation ready for Digitalisation named Fostering Innovation Towards A More Sustainable Forest Sector In Europe, was held on 14th and 15th June 2022 in the representative hall of the European Forestry Institute in Barcelona (Hospital de la Santa Creu and Sant Pau). The Event was attended by more than 100 participitants from Europe.
Project ROSEWOOD4.0 – EU Network of Regions On Sustainable Wood Mobilisation ready for Digitalisation iz funded from Horizon2020, gathers 21 project partners from 18 EU countries that are organised in 5 regional HUBS for sustainable use of wood materials. Vukovar-Srijem County Competence Centre is South-East HUB manager, in which the project partners Cluster of Bioenergy and Environment of Western Macedonia from Greece and the Slovenian Forestry Institute also participated. In the framework of project 459 best practices and innovations are collected, and are available on Knowledge Platform: https://www.forestinnovationhubs.rosewood-network.eu/, Roadmaps are made and published on https://rosewood-network.eu/resources/roadmaps/, and open online courses (MOOCs) have been launched and are available on the official website of the project: https://rosewood-network.eu/resources/training/.
Following the successful implementation of the ROSEWOOD 4.0 project, which lasted from January 2020 to June 2022, project partners will continue to participate in network activities to ensure the sustainability of project activities and using all its results when it comes to digital solutions and tools for sustainable wood use.
The first meeting of the European ROSEWOOD4.0 Network, which gathers respectable scientific research institutions from 18 European countries, was attended by European Commission representative, and is formally decided that Vukovar-Srijem County Competence Centre will be ROSEWOOD4.0 Network coordinator, while European Forestry Institute will be in charge of logistical support. This is a recognition for the work done so far and the results achieved by the Competence Centre Ltd for research and development, Vukovar-Srijem County and Republic of Croatia.
